Instead of working off other mock drafts, we dove into the Pro Football Focus mock draft tool and did a seven-round mock for the 49ers.

We were able to execute a trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where the 49ers sent the pick Nos. 31 and 156 to the Bucs for pick Nos. 45 and 76. The first offer that didn’t include the fifth-round pick was rejected, but the Draft Tek trade value chart still had the 49ers winning the trade from a value perspective.

A wrench was thrown into the 49ers’ draft plans when the top three wide receivers, Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb and Henry Ruggs III were all taken in the top 12 picks.

Here’s how the draft shook out with the 49ers scooping up picks in Rounds 2 and 3:

This is the second of the two picks the 49ers fetched from the Bucs in their move back. Cushenberry mostly played C at LSU, but he could slide in right away at right guard and eventually move to center if needed.

This would be only the second RB the 49ers have drafted since 2017, but Evans fits the 49ers’ backfield perfectly. He scored 23 touchdowns in 2019, including 18 on the ground and 5 in the air.

The 49ers chased TE Austin Hooper in free agency. In a shallow class for tight ends, Taumoepeau is a good athlete and a willing blocker who could fit into the third tight end role early on.
